Chuck Your Ballet Flats For Spring

SAY WHAT?!

I was watching E! News yesterday and some Fashion Consultant claimed that for Spring, ballet flats were going out of style and it was time for girls to chuck them; she MUST be on crack. She proclaimed that wedges were the new "it" shoe (well, duh!). I don't know why this woman made me angry, but she did! It was probably because I love ballet flats and think they are great all-year-round. But, I think we all know gladiator sandals are the actual "it" shoe for Spring; they made an appearance last Spring, but are stomping their way into existance this time around.

So to the E! News Fashion Consultant, I am going to still prance around in my ballet flats come this Spring--SUCK ON THAT SUCKA!

  2. Does anyone actually take fashion advice from E! News seriously? (I know you don't Secretista and neither do I!). Or look at it this way, does Audrey Hepburn ever look out-of-style?

  3. Ballet pumps are THE most toe-friendly fashion item. They cannot go!

Thanks so much for the nomination!

  8. Yes I completely agree. How can you not savor your ballet flats for spring, they are a MUST HAVE. E! doesn't know anything about fashion to begin with... I don't acknowledge anything they say.

  10. I never thought that ballet flats could go out of style. To me their classic, so I will continue wearing mine. Plus, I never really follow trends. If I like something I'm going to continue to wear it no matter what magazines and fashion consultants are saying.

  18. Hi =)

To answer your question on my post: I do not attend Chinese school or study Chinese professionally. I'm 100% Chinese born and raised in China, and after moving to Canada at the age of 9 I kept on learning by myself because I love Chinese literature and culture so much I couldn't bare to forget it.

I attend a highschool in Vancouver, Canada that is predominantly Chinese, so all my friends are Chinese and Mandarin is the unofficial but the most frequently used language in the school.

In addition, I freelance for a Chinese youth magazine and I translate fiction for the Foreign Language Press of China via correspondence.

I hope that answers your question, lol.

Your pinyin is quite strong for someone who's not Chinese =))

  22. the thing about E! news type fashion tips are that theyre aimed at middle-aged housewives. they're really not on the cutting edge. but really, they drive me crazy too. like when an olsen is on in touch's fashion police or something. i want to shake them and be like "THATS FASHION" but i know its not aimed at people who are truly devoted to fashion.

  25. I hate wearing flats. I get annoyed when people say heels are out! It's so stupid. People should wear whatever kind of shoes they want!

  26. I agree with Molly's comment. I just bought some ballet flats and I can't wait to wear them when it gets a bit warmer. I also love wedges and gladiators, but I think ballet flats are timeless classics.
