Today, I got to sit-in on a staff meeting. This is my second one, but this time it was with the CEO and all hands were on deck! I wasn't sure if I was allowed to have my in-put (I didn't want to anyway), so I just sat there taking notes like a mad woman. I swear, these ladies are so inspiring and creative it makes me want to work harder during my 6 hour shift.
Speaking of inspiring people. My Editor-in-chief at JAYE Magazine is truly darling. He gives advice like no other, and I'm so thankful he's in my life. He's like a personal mentor and I'm so glad that I'm on his staff where I'm writing and learning (a lot). That being said, the July issue of JAYE Magazine is on the web!
I have a question for you all. Why do I always get hit-on by sleazy men? Seriously. It's kind of annoying. I'm not trying to secretly praise myself, but truly vent. Whenever I walk in the city to and from my internship, I always get sleazy comments like:
"Hey chocolate!"
"How you doin' dimples?"
"What's poppin' sunshine?"
Or today's last one was actually kinda nice:
"Hey beautiful, what's your name?"
Sigh, where would the world be without sleazy men? Hmm, I guess the fact that I wore killer pumps today didn't help either. The pumps do ooze sexiness, but I tried to downplay them with my outfit. However, today's outfit was all about the shoes. Imelda you shoe feen--you like? The shoes inspire my inner Diva.
Who or what inspires you?

those shoes are totally HOT! i want everything in the animal kingdom! no offense, but i like animal prints soo much! maybe it speaks of the inner "animal" instinct i have.. rawr.. haha! :) sleezy men.. it makes up my day sometimes, though i really hate stalkers esp when theyre ugly.. BUT i wudnt mind being stalked by a hot guy! *wink* hahahaha.. again, rawr.
ReplyDeleteI love the outfit, those shoes are killer! And I'm liking the elephant necklace =)
ReplyDeleteYou're so lucky to sit in on a meeting like that. Jeez, I can't wait until I'm old enough to intern.
Ahahaha! I've had the, "Sup chocolate" line thrown at me as well. But damn those heels are hot!
ReplyDeleteArgh. Sleazy men. They did not stand a chance with you strutting in those sexy pumps though.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are sexy! I think anything wit animal prints is sexy. ;)
ReplyDeleteThese shoes are gorgeous. Stylish and so hot. What inspires me??? People, nature and even successes.
ReplyDeleteHugs from Angel.
Yes, you seriously rock in this outfit!! I love the shoes and you look so stylish in trousers!!
ReplyDeletehmm I guess we dont have 'jaye' in england - lovely shoes btw :) definitionpoliticalspeakspace.blogspot.com x
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAnd the sleazy chat-up lines made me laugh; I am glad I'm not the only one on the recieving end of man's inability to speak to us gorgeous women!
Those are some terrible lines
ReplyDeleteMaybe take an ipod so you wont have to listen to your many fans!
Ugh, now you have me craving a brownie.
ReplyDeleteI once got my ass grabbed on the subway by a homeless man. It pissed me off more that he got my white shorts dirty than the fact that he grabbed my ass. The funny part about it all is that this other homeless guy started yelling at him for grabbing my ass. My ass (and the rest of my body) hightailed it out of there.
I agree with Coco, my ipod is my defense mechanism...
ReplyDeletethanks for commenting my blog xx
ReplyDeletelove your shoes, so adorable!!!
Ugh, I hate sleazy people on the street too...
ReplyDeletegreat cover you did! so cool!
ReplyDeleteit´s official: i love those pumps!!! so great on you!! in loveeeeeeeeeee
kisses
Sleazy men are, ironically, the only men with enough confidence to hit on girls walking down the street. It's depressing, and I say just walk by like you didn't hear them, because 9 out of 10 times they spout their shitty pick-up lines at just above a whisper.
ReplyDeleteOR, just don't look cute when you head into the city.
I like going into the city when I'm down, because I know I'm bound to get hit on by at least a couple of guys just walking from GCT to Bryant Park...haha
Love this outfit, those shoes are hot. When I wear something that shows my back tattoos sometimes men say, "hello, butterfly." I feel like responding, "hello, blind man, they're birds, not wings or butterflies..."
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the club. It is really gross when grown men say those disgusting comments to me.
ReplyDeleteHowever I am too fab to answer back, lol.
i love love the shoes...and i hate hate sleaze balls, especially when they try to grab at you and they whistle.. yuck!
ReplyDeleteI love your shirt paired with that necklace. You look chic!
ReplyDeleteI suppose its better to be hit on by sleazy men than have them saying mean things. i love your work attire:)
ReplyDeletexoxo
I love your top. Very simple and elegant.

Have a nice weekend.
Angel.
Darling, those pumps are so hot! I definitely know what it's like to get hit on by the sleaziest of men. I'm quite tall and some of them have taken to calling me a general and oh-so-clever nickname, "Tallese". You know, like Chinese or Japanese. With wit like that, why wouldn't I be interested? *rolls eyes*
ReplyDeleteSleazy men - what a drag! But, of course you are getting hit on because you always look fabulous. The heels are ferocious & I love the whole ensemble!
ReplyDeleteyou are so lucky to work for a magazine! I'd love to do that.
ReplyDeleteToday's outfit is so fantastic. And your heels..oh wow! You really do inspire when it comes to style!
xx
I just ignore them, I can't stand cheesy pick up lines, I'd rather someone strike up an intelligent conversation with me.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on working for the mag, I wish i could get a job like that but then again I need to make ends meat, it's not as easy to do this stuff when you move out of your parents home.
Love your outfit, I see that you are wearing my favorite elephant;)
I can't remember the last time a guy came onto me, sleazy or otherwise!
ReplyDeleteHELL YES BABYCAKES!!! But I'm loving your portraits more...I know, it's hard to believe! By my reckoning you have the best stylized 'outfit photography' I've come across.
ReplyDeleteCan I ask is 'hey chocolate!' sung out by African American men or white men or both?
Argh. Sleazy men. They did not stand a chance with you strutting in those sexy pumps though.
