I just had a very interesting conversation about my future with my mom. Just when I get scared and I feel like a disappointment to my family name because I'm not trying to become a doctor or a lawyer, my mom finds a way to reassure me that I should just follow my heart. And that's what I am and have been doing. Our mini mother to daughter heart-to-heart reminded me of a recent post on TeenVogue about role models. Without blinking, I know exactly who my role model is. She embodies everything I want to do with my life; and that's help influence the lives of millions of girls. Aside from fashion and the publishing industry, I care deeply about helping girls. Specifically, teens. Her name is Atoosa Rubenstein. And after re-watching her interview with Charlie Rose, I feel reminded about the intentions of my life's path.

That was really heart warming to read :) Mini heart to heart moments with a love one is always a good time to realize how lucky and loved one could be.
ReplyDeleteyour mom is right. you should follow your own heart and do something that will make you happy. in the long run, you will be mor successful if you are doing things you enjoy and have a passion for.
ReplyDeleteAw your mom sounds awesome !
ReplyDeleteyes do whatever makes you happy - the worst would to be stuck in profession that can't enjoy...
Aw, it sounds like your mother is sweet. Doctors and lawyers are important--but so are so many other jobs and sometimes just roles our society needs.
ReplyDeleteIt's so good that your mom is so supportive! (:

I definitely agree with following your own heart. I'll never make a good doctor, a lawyer or accountant and I'm ok with that...at the end of the day you've got to be happy right?
