The Problem With Jeans

I give up! Jeans suck. I can never find the perfect pair. And when I do, they don't last me more than 6 months because of my thunder thighs and bodacious rump shaker.

Last August, to keep with my high-waisted skinny jean fad, I bought two more pairs for the school year from what I call "The Curvy Girl Store." I say that because all the mannequins look like two giant basketballs landed on their back side. Nevertheless, I thought, "I found THE perfect store. Finally, a place where a girl like me could find jeans that would fit her correctly and will last!" I was wrong. The jeans fit all right, but as far as being everlasting, guess again. The jeans lasted me until December. And when both jeans began to rip, I was low on cash, so I went a good four months not wearing any skinny jeans. Nothing but leggings, tights and the one pair of wide-leg jeans I own (which I might add have lasted me for almost two years).

The Problem With Jeans
One of my favorite pair of jeans. The high-waisted skinny. Yum.

So to get to the point, I've noticed that mostly my skinny jeans tend to rip and end up in my trash can 6 months after the purchase. Could this be because I probably wear them more than once a week? Or could it be the poor quality of the jean? No. I think jeans just suck. They are lovely to wear, but frustrating to buy. Down with jeans!

xoxo

  1. Jeans are such an elusive Holy Grail item to shop for, so I understand your pain.

  2. 6 months? Acck I had one that ripped on me in a really unfortunate place after about 10 and I thought it was because of bad quality. It was also Hollister, which loses me all adult credibility I have, hehe.

Also, jeans never fit right on me and emphasize frequently that I'm a short person. So I totally know what you mean.

  3. I haven't bought jeans in 3 years, because buying them is so utterly frustrating!!! I just wear sweatpants and more sweatpants.

  4. Shopping for jeans can be very frustrating! I find Seven Jeans and Earnest Sewn suit most figures so maybe you should give them ago...they are a bit on the pricey side but well worth it :)

  5. Jean shopping is frustrating. However jeans shouldn't rip after 6 months. I never had it happen to me before, but ouch it is annoying.

  6. No, no, not down with jeans. I love jeans. I don't have jeans as cute as that though, and if I did, and they ripped, I probably would scorn jeans too.

  7. i know what you mean - when i find a pair of jeans that fit I throw a party. I give up looking during the summer because it's skirts and dresses time ... but yes will have to start looking again.

  10. Where do your jeans rip? I had a bunch of really great jeans, then I lost a lot of weight, now none of them fit, but I'm way too cheap to buy a new pair of jeans. I love them, but they cost too much to just buy on a whim.

  12. What a shame, those high waisted skinnies are terribly hard to pull off and you wore them so well!

I live in leggings and skirts...though I do own a few trusty pairs of jeans which I throw on when I just can't be bothered!

  13. I totally have no idea what people mean when they say jeans are comfy. For me at least, they most certainly are not comfy!

I own three pairs of jeans that are all from Target's children section in size 12 plus.

Reason? My legs are short, after all I'm only about five feet tall, but that's not the biggest problem. My thighs are pretty large (from athletics) for the length of my legs. What's more is that my waist is pretty small.

So these are the only jeans I have found to fit me in the last three years.

Ergo, I wear dresses year round. Much more comfy :)
