Sleeping Suggestions?

I've been up since 3am. And as I surfed the Internet in my insomniac state, I stumbled upon this Gap commercial:

Did anyone ever go out and try the skinny black pant?

For the past week, I've had odd sleeping patterns. I went to bed at midnight and thought that my problems were solved and that I would be able to sleep until 7am--which is when my friend and I are supposed to go to the gym. Well, I was wrong. I woke up at 3am and could not fall back asleep. WHY?! WHY?! I don't know, but I guess it's my fault for staying up really late for the past 7 days and not waking up until mid-afternoon.

I'm not one to have sleeping problems and I'm really trying to stray away from taking medicine. So many of my friends take NyQuil just so they'll knock out, and I don't want to be like them.

Any suggestions?

  1. It looks like Audrey Hepburn in the Gap Commercial! Look at my most recent post [Which I'll have posted in half an hour, I'd say] - I'm wearing skinny black trousers!
I hate it, not being able to sleep. I think the most important thing is not to stress yourself, and when you realise you can't sleep, just get out of bed and do something else, and if you are tired during the day, DON'T go to sleep. Your sleeping pattern will come back if you just go through with it.. It's like jet-lag.

  2. Cate: It is Audrey, it is manipulation from the movie Funny Face.

    I love that movie.

Have you tried to nap? Or then you could just skip one night compleatly and not have a nap, you'll be tired next evening.

  3. If that happens I just try to lie still for about half an hour, and if I still can't get to sleep I read. Using the computer when you can't sleep is a really bad idea; something about the light it emits and the overstimulation make it really hard for the brain to shut down properly and sleep to take its course apparently.

  4. It probably just means your body got used to a weird sleeping pattern, hopefully it will stop soon! I've never tried a skinny black pant myself, but I've seen it worked well by others.
