The Story of A Girl Who's Almost 21

YES! I'm almost a "legal adult!" In 26 days (1.23.10) yours truly will be turning the not-so-ripe-old age of 21. I'm going to be taking a week off from blogging until the new year. And in the days leading up until my B-Day, I'll be sharing my favorite part of pop culture from the past 21 years of my life--including music videos, trends and etc.

I'll leave you with this music video from Nine Days. The song's called Absolutely (Story of A Girl). Love it. It brings me back to 5th grade. I wish someone would write a song about me!

Another Reason to Love Alexander Wang

At last night's CFDA Awards, Alexander Wang opted for black cotton-sateen Comme des Garçons shorts than the usual sleekly tailored man's dress pant. I think the Swarovski Womenswear Designer winner looked absolutely adorable and befitting for last night's fashion accolades. What do you think?

Could You Wear The Same Thing Everyday?

I recently stumbled upon this Web site: The Uniform Project. One girl, is on a mission to wear one dress for 365 days in efforts to raise awareness and money for the education system in India. She has seven identical dresses and recreates an outfit everyday with layers and accessories. I think this is ingenious! So I ask, could YOU wear the same thing everyday?

Forever 21 for Your Father

With about two weeks left until Father's Day, I still haven't thought about what I should get my Father. Or well I mean, I haven't thought about what I should tell my older brother to buy him that's worthy of slabbing my name on the card and calling it a day. I'm short on cash--as I have been for the past couple of months--and I'm thinking about being a little more creative this year. But how? And with what? May be I'll get him a gift card to Forever 21? Ha. Well, I was baffled when I went on the Forever 21 Web site and saw this:

After I clicked the image, it all made sense and the concept of the contest is pretty cool. All you have to do is send in a photo of your daddy warbucks being the stylish pop he is and you could win a $200 gift card! My dada's pretty stylish, so may be I'll find some photos of him and win me some moolah to go shopping with for the fall season.

Glamour Kills Clothing

I'm not one for graphic tees. Heck, I only own two. One has Audrey Hepburn's face painted on it with her necklace bedazzled and the other is a Big Black Security T-shirt à la Rob & Big. Just like sneakers, graphic tees and Secretista do not mix--on a regular day basis. However, when I stumbled upon Glamour Kills Clothing, I was pleasantly intrigued. The company started in 2005 and is music inspired. And being that I'm from a state that houses great unknown rock/punk bands, I couldn't help but fall in love with their tees and signature flying pig logo.
