How Secretista Survives Midterms: Playtime!

My third and final tip to me is the most important.

3. Fun. Nothing is worst that being so into your schoolwork that you forget that you're a human being who needs playtime. All work and no play is no fun. I'm a firm believer in hard working, but a boring hard worker is well, LAME. So be sure to take some time out and hang out with your friends. If you don't, you might go crazy. Seriously.

Midterms are far from over and so a weekend filled with fun and excitement was a must. I spent my Halloween strolling Manhattan with some friends from school and some other interns. While my friends went back to school, the interns and I had a sleep over (yay!). We spent most of today lounging around, having a spontaneous photo shoot, and eating pizza, Pinkberry for the first time (yuck!), and Crumbs' cupcakes!

How Secretista Survives Midterms: Sleep

Photobucket

2. Sleep. John Locke, a great philosopher once said, "The good educator insists on exercise, play, and plentiful sleep." And hot damn he was right! Of course getting enough sleep is a no brainer, but I think college kids get into the habit of staying up late for no reason (I'm guilty of that sometimes). Pulling all nighters to finish papers or study because of procrastination becomes the new black once you enter college, and I envy those who can manage to get a good night's rest. However, I find that when I try--really REALLY try--and get enough sleep, I feel energized and happy. All of a sudden, studying for my midterms don't seem so bad. It's like entering a whole new dimension of academia. Nevertheless, I think we all need some sleep because we live in such a face paced world that some serious Zzz are a great reward to a hard working student.

How Secretista Survives Midterms: Chocolate

The only thing I hate more than exams are Crocs (throws up in mouth). Why can't professors just give me the A I think I deserve (hehe). Nevertheless, I do have some hidden secrets to midterm madness success, and it goes a little something like this:

1. Chocolate. Pishposh to who ever said chocolate will make you fat. Sure it might (if you eat a lot of it), but it sure does taste good going down my esophagus. Chocolate has long been seen as a pleasurable indulgence and a web-based survey shows that it triggers some happiness! I eat chocolate at least once a day, but eating it right before I decide to study gives me that extra enthusiasm. So eat more chocolate! I've already started, look:

Peace. Love. Fashion.

This is what I'll look like after next week.

I've got Mid-Terms coming up:
--A debate/exam in my Japanese Politics class, that I know nothing about.
--Chinese exam, and my Mandarin is dwindling; wo yao lianxi zhongwen.
--An English paper on analyzing the reading of the Secret Sharer (SO BORING!). I hate writing analytical papers when my heart isn't fully in it.
--Math exam on, hmm... I don't know, but the class is super easy.
--As for my Chinese Literature class, I'm not sure.

Side Notes:
--I'M SORRY FOR SPOILING THE END OF PROJECT RUNWAY FOR MANY OF YOU!!
--I'll still be commenting and viewing blogs.
--Keep yourself busy with these lovelie bloggers:
