Yum, Shoes!

So, Santa's little elf lied to me! I got wedged pumps from ALDO (picture below) instead of the leather wedged booties I showed you all a couple posts ago. Either way, I'm happy and had a good holiday with my fam. How was your holiday?

Congrats to Samantha McSween & fellow blogger cupcake♥trash for winning the Classicist giveaway. I neglected to mention that only a US reader could win the Rachel Leigh earrings from Chickdowntown. That's why there are two winners. Congrats ladies! Enjoy your early holiday gifts!

No One On The Corner Has Swagger Like My Dad

I've been told I'm like my dad: ambitious, strong-willed, prone to breakout into random singing, partially OCD, highly energetic, funny, giving, caring and stylish. Thanks pops for giving me some good traits. I posted this photo last year and I stand by it. My daddy warbucks has swagger.

Happy Father's Day!

Forever 21 for Your Father

With about two weeks left until Father's Day, I still haven't thought about what I should get my Father. Or well I mean, I haven't thought about what I should tell my older brother to buy him that's worthy of slabbing my name on the card and calling it a day. I'm short on cash--as I have been for the past couple of months--and I'm thinking about being a little more creative this year. But how? And with what? May be I'll get him a gift card to Forever 21? Ha. Well, I was baffled when I went on the Forever 21 Web site and saw this:

Forever 21 Father's Day Contest

After I clicked the image, it all made sense and the concept of the contest is pretty cool. All you have to do is send in a photo of your daddy warbucks being the stylish pop he is and you could win a $200 gift card! My dada's pretty stylish, so may be I'll find some photos of him and win me some moolah to go shopping with for the fall season.

Spring Break is Over--Womp, Womp

Tomorrow I go back to reality--womp, womp (my internal sound effect to disappointing things).

No more lounging around and enjoying my stress-free lifestyle, no more sleeping at whatever time I feel is suitable and no more peace and quiet. The next 30 days are going to be crazy as I take care of my summer plans, study for exams and finals, work overtime to make up for the shortage of money in my bank account and much more that I can't think of because my brain is so scattered as I stare at my hand-dandy planner.

Oh May 15, 2009 (the last day of finals) can you come a little faster?

Happy Easter!
This is my favorite music video, ever.
I think it's suiting for this holiday.

And It Begins!

First, Happy New Year!

Photobucket

I spent mine at school dressed up in 80's inspired clothing and watching Sixteen Candles and Pretty In Pink! I ate way too much for my own good and drank too much sparkling apple cider. But who cares because I had fun!

In 22 days I turn 20. Yours truly has been gearing up for her journey into her twenty-something and she (me) can say, "I'm ready." Sure there's nothing exciting about turning 20, but no longer will I be considered a "teen." You see, I'm not a girl, not yet a woman (**chuckles**), but turning 20 is just one step closer to truly being considered an adult.

I love my birthday. It's not because I get showered with gifts, because I don't. But I feel like it's my special day to call my own. I consider my birthday to be a holiday. Seriously, I do and you should too (consider your birthday to be a holiday). Every year I usually countdown with my friends and this time while counting down the days, I'll be revealing my obsessions. I just happen to have a love for a lot of things in this world.

Like I said in my previous post, I love change. My love for change is probably why I love fashion. Fashion is always changing and so am I. But don't get me wrong, as much as I love change, I also love stability and predictability. I just think that every now and then, we could use a little change in our lives. Could you imagine yourself dressing the same way you did when you were in elementary school? Or, keeping the same attitude on life you may have had five or so years ago?... No. I don't think so. We all change for good (or bad) reasons so when change comes your way, man up and embrace it.

Nevertheless, Happy New Year and I hope you all had a lovely New Year's Eve!

Time To Change!

Photobucket

I love New Years. Just like summer vacation, a New Year allows a person to change! And I'm a fan of change. It's been about a year since I started this blog and I've already made my changes. I've changed the layout and my content. However, I think I'm going to go back to blogging my style. I miss my jumping pictures (remember these?).

Tomorrow night I'll be spending my New Year's Eve at school. Yup, that's right. I'm doing my Resident Assistant thing by chillin' out with a fellow RA who can't leave the building because she is on duty (an RA on duty has to stay in their residential hall from 6pm-9am). We'll be having bottles of sparkling apple cider, finger food, and cupcakes! Nothing like a low-key partay for me :).

Enjoy your New Year's Eve! I'll be back on January 1, 2009 (!!!) and begin my birthday countdown.

Holiday Target

Merry Christmas!

Sorry I've been gone for sometime, but the school semester is done, Christmas shopping is over and I'm back.

In the past week, I attempted to go Christmas shopping... everyday; because you know, I waited until the last minute to get my gifts. Well, that was a bad idea. The New York City stores were a mess as well as Long Island. Too many people in too many stores. I hate holiday shopping crowds. In fact, I think I just hate holiday shopping, period. I told my best friend, "Dude. I went shopping today and it was insane. I officially hate Christmas shopping and when I have kids, they are getting NOTHING!" Of course she laughed in my face because that's unrealistic.

While shopping in New York City, my gal-pal who accompanied me made me realize that the city doesn't have a Target. I can't believe it. One of the greatest cities in the world doesn't have one of the greatest get-everything-in-one-stop stores! There are so many billboards advertising Target that if a foreigner were to come to New York City hoping to shop at Target, they wouldn't be able to find one! So if Target decides to build one in Manhattan, it better be a darn good one. I'm talking multiple stories high and an abundance amount of... STUFF! I love Target; I really do. AOL reports that on December 26, Target is offering 75% off on many select items (!!!). That's exciting! Too bad I'll be too busy wholesale grocery shopping--gotta stock up that 'dorm' room of mine.

Nevertheless, I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and a Happy Holiday!

Viva America!

Photobucket

It's 4th of July Weekend and that means having a reason to pig out on hot dogs, hamburgers and iced treats! I spent my 4th of July with my best friend, her father, her sister, her boyfriend, and another friend. We watched movies and ate Chinese food and ice cream. And after her family left, we talked and reminisced about high school--it was a rather interesting conversation. I didn't get home til 2 in the morning and my mom wasn't too happy about that, heh. I feel kind of bad, but when I'm away at school late nights are a part of my life. All in all, 4th of July was fun. How was your 4th of July? What did you do?

Here's another "Who Wore It Better" long over due. In the spirit of 4th of July, tell me who wore my American flag bandanna better; Ellie or me? My vote--as always--is with Ellie.

Thanks Dad For...

Allowing me to eat the last piece of cake on your birthday.
Letting me be your little girl.
Putting my baby face on your desktop.
Supporting me at all my sporting events.
Sending me all those chain e-mails.
Telling me to watch out for boys in high school.
Understanding me in your tough love demeanor.

And most importantly, for being my dad.

My parent's wedding day

"Please, I've got style too!"

Happy Father's Day!
Be sure to love on your daddies!

Memorial Day & Friends

Photobucket

Photobucket

Could Memorial Day be anymore perfect? My friends and I went to the park for a walk, and concurred that it's freakin' hot outside! Sure, it's not humid, and the wind is blowing at a good speed, but the sun is shining ever so brightly and I think I became a shade darker (yikes!). Nevertheless, today is perfect Memorial Day weather.

I was going to wear high waisted shorts, but before my outing, my dad grilled burgers and hot dogs and let's just say I had enough to feed an army. Okay that's an exaggeration, but I ate a lot. I decided on a red checkered dress. It was quite appropriate for where we were going. I looked like a picnic basket :). Anyway, we walked around, saw a dead fish, stepped on geese poop, and talked about girl stuff. Eventually, we then decided to skedaddle to somewhere else to eat and chit chat. And when we saw our high school gym teacher, we knew it was time to leave.

All in all, I spent my Memorial Day sort of lounging around. I hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day. We've all gotta go back to school/work/etc. tomorrow, so enjoy the rest of your day!
